Standing Firm

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 3

Focus Verses: Hebrews 3:12-14  “Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters.  Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God.  You must warn each other every day, while it is still today, so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God.  For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.”

When Jesus gave the Great Commission to make disciples, it was not just for his twelve disciples, it was not just for Kenyans, it was not just for Americans.  It was for all Christians everywhere.  We are to share the message of the Gospel.  We are also to warn one another about sin that can entangle us.  The writer of Hebrews tells us to be firm in what we believe about God.  Let us not deceive ourselves or others by our own sin.  Let us examine our own walk with the Lord.  Are we standing firm in our own faith?  Some people are only faithful to God when everything is going well for them.  Some are only faithful when they want something from God.  When our faith is tested, our neighbors are watching to see if we will stand firm.  So let us live in such a way that others will see that we are a Christ follower.  Stand firm in your faith.
