Press On

Press On

Scripture Reading: Philippians 3:12-21

Focus Verse: Philippians 3:14  I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

Have you ever had a day when you just didn’t feel like going on?  So many things just don’t seem to be going well.  God can give you the power through His Holy Spirit to get you back on track.  Paul says “I press on” like he is running in a race, and he’s not going to give up.  We will be determined to continue to run in this race until God calls us home and awards us a heavenly prize.  God wants us to continue to press on in the work he has given us to do.  It is always too soon to quit. 

Jesus knew the reward that was on the other side of the cross, and He didn’t quit.  We should not quit.  The life we live on this earth is so very short compared with the eternity we will spend in heaven.  Know that any difficulty that you face is only making you stronger in this life and for all eternity.  "Quitters never win, and winners never quit."  So when you feel like you can’t go on, God will help you to press on.
